Thanks to you, the country celebrated the commitment of the millions of Americans who have chosen to serve their country through AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors. News outlets, community leaders, elected officials and even the Second Gentleman took time to stop and thank AmeriCorps members and volunteers. From proclamations declaring AmeriCorps Week to site visits to Day of the A, you made this week possible. Even the US Senate celebrated national service efforts.

There were so many creative Day of the A pictures this year. From puzzle pieces to tree carvings, you really brought your ‘A game.’ Check out Our House’s picture above.
Help us Grow
After a week of celebrations, we need your help to grow the national service family. Below are current opportunities to serve with AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors. Take a couple of moments to forward this message on or share with your networks.

NCCC Summer of Service
Fight climate change and make the summer count. AmeriCorps members train at our Aurora, Colo., campus and serve from June-August on an environmental stewardship project (could be anywhere nationwide). Accepting applications for AmeriCorps members and team leaders now through Thursday, March 31. Learn more.

AmeriCorps Seniors: Make Giving Back your Second Act
We are committed to helping Americans 55 and older serve their communities. Our AmeriCorps Seniors programs offer opportunities specifically catered to older Americans. Learn more.

VISTA Summer Associate Program
The Summer Associate program offers individuals the opportunity to become engaged in a community through an existing project for 8, 9, or 10 weeks during the summer starting in May and ending no later than early September. Applications open now. Learn more.

New Grant Opportunity
$25K grants available to age-integrate national service
During AmeriCorps Week, Generations Serving Together announced a new incentive grant program from Encore.org to bring older and younger generations together to solve problems and bridge divide through national service. All organizations that receive AmeriCorps funding and want to start a new intergenerational initiative or expand a current program are encouraged to apply.
