Augusta’s VA senior-living facility ranked among top in nation AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Veterans Health Administration recently announced that Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center’s Community Living Center (CLC) earned a 5-star quality rating, the highest possible rating for a VA long-term residence facility. It is the sixth straight quarter the Augusta VA senior-living facility has earned a 5-star rating.
“This rating is further confirmation that our CLC continues to excel in caring for one of our most vulnerable Veteran patient populations, even amid the challenges posed by COVID-19,” said Dr. Robin Jackson, director of Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. “Our senior Veterans have earned nothing less than compassionate, high-quality care, and our CLC provides that each and every day.”
Charlie Norwood VA’s CLC, based at its Uptown Division on 1 Freedom Way in Augusta, is ranked No. 31 in VA’s national CLC quality rankings, up from a No. 74 ranking one year ago, placing the Augusta VA among the nation’s top 25 percent.
Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a level 1b, high-complexity hospital, made up of more than 2,600 employees serving over 50,000 registered Veteran patients in Georgia and South Carolina. In addition to the Medical Center’s two campuses in Augusta, Charlie Norwood VA operates three outpatient clinics, located in Aiken, South Carolina, and Athens and Statesboro, Georgia.
